Question Bypassing Neutral Safety Switch in old runners?

in an auto trans 87 4Runner?

Anybody got any experiance with them? Removal is a pain... getting it loose is easy...but I can't get it past the transmission line that is tight to it...

I got the same '87 runner with auto trans. I was able to pull the line back enough to remove the safety switch. Dealer wanted about $230 for a new one. By the starter, there are 2 connectors. One is a 3 prong. I forget which 2 to short out but it is easy to figure out.
I bypassed the entire ignition system with a push button start.

All I have to say is... "I love you man"

That is the ticket!!! Just installed the little jump wire and she fired right up... I had read the wiring diagram and saw what you said but found a diff plug...so I thought... I found the square plug right above the round one I needed...

What happens now when I forget to put it in park when I get out (I am usually a 5-speed driver)... This should be interesting...

Thanks again ...ya da man...

Are you a Texas fan? If so I owe you another thanks for taking out the tarheels
