85 Will Not Start

Hello All
Man, this site's Design formate look's familiar?

But any how, yesterday I was driving along and all of a sudden I lost my wipers, the radio, the dash clock and the alt. light came on. The truck ran fine but when I got home I shut the truck off and tryied to restart and nothing and I mean nothing, no starter noise, no no obvious current drainage (lights deam). I had headlights, the fan motor would run but when I turned the key NOTHING!
I spent all day trying to track the problem down. Checked all known fuses, took the key switch apart cleaned all contacts. I could take a wire and hard jump start the truck on the back of the switch wireing contacts. I fininaly took a piece of wire and pushed it in the back of the secondard plug harness and jumped it that away now I can still trun the truck useing key
Does any one have the answer to this mystery?

P.S. I searched for fuseable links but found none.

I am looking at the electrical schematic diagram. It shows what appears to be a fusible link, labeled AM1, connected to the ignition switch through a white wire. It appears that would cause your problem. To check, see if you have 12V on the white wire to the switch connector.
What confuses me is that the other devices using the same symbol are labeled "FL." I am not sure what "AM" stands for. Somewhere in the harness is a circuit breaker, though I have not found it in the schematic. In my experience "AM" is not a circuit breaker, but who knows what Toyota had in mind? Maybe that is the circuit breaker and it needs reset. Apparently it plugs into the same assembly as the turn signal flasher and the taillight relay, on the left side of the truck, behind or under the dash.
Good luck.
