Air Bag Indicator

My air bag indicator light just came on. How do I take it off/reset it? BTW, I have a 1998 Toyota Tacoma 4wd TRD. Today I just hit 100,000 mile club!!!

Well, if the light came on then that could very well indicate a problem and you need to check it out. I don't know for sure, but I think it's possible to read airbag codes with an OBDII reader

Toyota has a special service tool to reset the light, but it will just come back on if you don’t fix what caused it to trip in the first place.

the same problem happened to my 99 taco 4x4, to fix it, i first disconnected my battery and let it sit for one hour (airbag systems have a internal battery that you must let discharge, before you start messing with the system) i then pulled the console under the ash tray and behind it there is the air bag module, it will have some yellow plugs, unplug all of them and plug them back in, this fixed my air bag light, i belive that there was a bad connection in one of the connectors, and by removing it and reinstalling it makes a better connection. Good luck and hope this helps.
and a OBDII scanner will not access the air bag codes, you have to jump a coulple connectors in the diagnostic connector under the hood to get the light to flash codes, i cant remember the pins to jump though
