Air Conditioner!!

There's this really nice '90 Toyota Pickup I was very close to buying until I learned it has no A/C!! I can't live without an A/C here but this truck is really clean and runs great. The price isn't too bad either accept for the fact that it doesn't have an A/C. I've seen the compressors on the internet for under $100 and I could probably pull one from a junk yard for cheaper. What else would I need to install an A/C and how hard would it be? How much money do you think it will end up costing?

Thanks!

-Adam

You'd need compressor, condensor, lines and control panel. Make sure it has a compressor mounting plate. Most vehicles that come with AC as an option have the mounting plate and wiring already there, just missing the components.

Now....it cant be that hot there....I dont have any AC here.

Thanks for the information. I searched the net and found a little more info. It seems a lot harder and more expensive then one would first think.

Also, well, it's hot enough to really want one. In the summer, it's constantly in the 90's and 100's. I don't know about you, but I would hate sitting in my truck, sweating in my nice work clothes...hehe

Hey Sunday Sunday BBQ did you ever have A/C installed in your truck? I bought my 1989 truck about a month and a half ago and want to install A/C into it. I'm in Sacramento and sitting in a car/truck when it's in the 90/100 in work clothes is no pic-nic. Can you give me some details on how much it cost, where you had it done and if you had any problems. Thanks.
