Lightbulb CV Joint help

On my 88 toyota the cv joint covering is split. At this time i cant afford to replace it. So how can i make a temporary fix for this problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

put some more grease in there and try to tape it shut (quite liberal with the tape)

if you have manual hubs make sure the hubs are unlocked and the transfer case is in 2wd, the axle wont spin and wont cause anymore damage to itself

A new boot kit from the dealer is only about $25 from toyota of richardson in texas. They do mailorders.

the best temporary fix is a split boot kit. they will last a couple months but it is a temporary fix. a new boot is like 90 bucks if u have someone do it. if u ignor it then is like 350+ for a new axle installed
