Is this a good deal/product?

My brother has an '01 tundra 2wd ext cab v8 sr5. He is looking into getting a lift kit. He want's to just get the spacers but I'm trying to talk him into getting a full kit w/new coilovers, struts/shocks. I was wondering if this is a good kit and if there are any better kits out there. Also if anyone knows where to get this kit cheaper. Hes got 70k on the truck and it's going to need new struts/shocks anyways pretty soon. Any reccomendations?

fabtech basic kit

EDIT: Forgot to mention he's got around 500 to spend, and want's a 2.5" lift.

There's a reason their nickname is ***tech....those coilovers suck...tell him to save up another $200 and get Sway-away coilovers....well worth the money...if he really wants to splurge, the best bolt-on coilovers are Donahoe's...but they're $950 a set...and most places are out of them

A fiend of mine put the leveling spacers on the front and a two inch block on the rear and is running 33 x 12.50's. Although they do rub while turning tight over bumps, 32 x 11.50's would be more realistic.

the biggest question is what does he plan on doing with his truck? is he lifting it for offroading or looks? what kinda offroading is he gonna be doing?

if it's just for looks, then get coil spacers and either an AAL or shackle in the rear...I'm kinda iffy bout blocks but some people run em with no problems...

if he plans on wheelin' it depends on what kind he's gonna be doing....I'm not too sure about tundras but there's lotsa other kits available...I've ridden in a truck w/ the ***tech basic coilovers and my stock ride was better than that...

Tundra rear shackles work oppisite from most they mount with the frame pivot below the sping. longer shackles would actually lower it. You'd need rearched springs or blocks.

Yeah he's not really doing too much off roading but he might want to after he gets the lift. Do you have a site for the best place to purchase the sway aways? Thanks
