Original filter that came with the truck is part # 90915-20003.

Local Toyota dealer sold me part # 08922-02011.

Is the difference in part numbers simply because they were made by different mfgs?

Why buy a filter from the dealer??

WIX filters from O'reilly or Napa Gold are great filters and probably a better price.

Checked with more than one Toyota dealer for an answer to this. So far two have replied and both indicated that either number is correct for a 4 cyl 2004 Tacoma.

I read on the WEB that one is made by Denso; the other by Purolator, but I have no real proof of this. I would believe as suggested by the last poster that different mfgs. are involved.

I agree with the previous poster. Wix and NAPA Gold are good filters.
