HELP 1987 4X4 restoration
I've finally decided to restore my son's 87 4x4. Mechanically I can pretty much handle but it has several other issues such as some rust on the box where the seams are. I assume I can buy replacement parts?????
Also would like to replace the seats as they are terribly uncomfortable, anyone know what makes good replacements?
I also would like to put on a nice set of wheels and tires and maybe lift it a bit ( don't want to get carried away with that).
He had several minor front end fender benders that weren't fix properly ( I see one headlight is wired in from the back) and I will need to replace the grill and bumpers both front and rear.
I'd sort of like to do it right and start to drive it again, it's been sitting since he died in Feb 1999. It's been stored inside and I got it running today and it seems to run fine. I imagine it will be terribly under powered if I put bigger tires and wheels on it, any performance upgrades I should consider. Also any other upgrade suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks
