I believe they're built at the NUMMI plant in California.

Fremont California. New United Motor Manufacturing Incorporated (NUMMI). http://nummi.com/

It's a joint venture with GM where they make the corolla, tacoma and pontiac Vibe.

Toyota engines are built in Japan, although in the last couple of months, new ground has been broken for an ultra-modern 4 cylinder plant in Long Beach, CA. An 8 eight cylinder plant is being proposed for Texas in the near future. As far as tranny's I have no idea...all my Toyotas are so old that they ARE Japanese (not bragging, I just can't afford anything else!
