Does the engine die when you push in the clutch? I'm having the same problem with my truck. It starts cutting out when I'm driving and then dies when I push in the clutch at a stop sign. I haven't figured out the problem. But I've ruled out fuel filter, clogged fuel lines and a vaccum leak, but those are things you can check.

The fuel filter is more of a problem when you accelerate, not stop, so that is probably AOK. Check or replace your distributer cap and rotor. That usually fixes that problem on my 1989 22R. After that new plugs or new ignition cables if your ride is as old as mine. I've had your problem a couple of times with mine and the above fixed it. When you say 'cutting out' do you mean sputtering or the engine dieing ?

what do you mean by cutting out .
how long after you turn it on .
how many times in a day does it cut out .
on hills or on flat ground.
