Is there a trick to getting a fuel filter off?

1985 Toyota P/U 22RE engine (4 years in storage)

Found the filter fairly well. Got the banjo nut loose off the forward (from the tank) but the back (to the EFI Manifold) is being an absolute bear. Is this nut counter threaded?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Well no response here so here is what I did:

1. Buy a VERY LONG bar with a socket attachment at the end, place 17 MM socket on the end.

2. Soak the annoying bolt down with Wurth's Rost Off Extra

And BAM!!! The bolt comes loose.

Breaker bars are the sh*t !!!! I had to use a 5 foot pipe connected to a ratchet for my hubs to come off... i was jumping on the end of it with all 125lbs of me! Prob a little ghetto rigged, but hell it worked.....

Oh yeah, that was for my 89 xj that i had to do that with!

If any of you were wondering, (which you prob arent), the ratchet broke on the last jump that did the trick. Props to whoever made that one!

The old filter was almost 20 Years old with 260k miles on it. Lets hope I don't have to take it off again.
