1978 Toyota Landcruiser Problem

I will be driving along in my 1978 Toyota Landcrusier. Then out of no where i will go to give it gas and nothing, the engine wont rev up. There is still power to the lights and radio etc. If I turn off the key and turn the engine over again it will start right up. This happens about 4 or 5 times a day. Does anyone out there have any idea on what could be wrong???? PLEASE HELP

Are you saying the engine dies or just won't respond to the throttle? If it is dying, I would suspect a loose connection, probably in the ignition primary.
