86 22r fast Idle Problem?

I just purchased a 1986 Toyota pickup with a 22R Carb, manual transmission. When I go out in the morning and start it, it seem s to idle fine just setting there. However when I take off and stop for the first time at a light and push in the clutch it seems to idle extremely fast. All the way to work it will do the same thing every time I push in the clutch. Is this normal? Is it just warming up? Seems like it would stay doing that for the 15 minutes it takes me to get to work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

it does sound like a fast idle problem or a sticky plate, you can try cleaning out the carb with a can or so of cleaner.
