88 Toyota Truck 22RE EFI AC Idle problem

Help!!!!!
I have noticed that when I turn on the AC the idle does not go up. I have an 88 4x4 pickup with a 22RE EFI
I replaced the TPS as well as the Small air valve that is suppose to re direct the air or something (the idle up valve I think, sits on top of the valve cover, middle one). I did notice that the two wires that lead to the little switch one has positive energy but the other has nothing. When I connect a ground to the other side I get a weird sound but the idle does not go up. I managed to go into the AC Amplifier and adjust it so that the AC still kicks in with regular idle but this lowers the idle to about 500RPMs. Am I missing anything? Any help would be appriciated. How can I get the idle to go up when the ac comes on? I know this is what is suppose to happen.

Should be the same as my '86 runner. There is a plastic screw on the engine side of the throttle body. If you turn the ac ON and adjust that screw, it should adjust your idle.

But isn't the idle suppose to be triggered to go higher when the AC is on and untriggered so it will go lower when the AC is shut off?

Yes, exactly! That little switch with the 2 wires turns it OFF/ON but the screw I mentioned adjusts the amount of rev when it is turned ON. That little switch directs air to a diapragm that opens a air passage. The amount of air passage is controlled by the screw, basically a needle valve.

Tried it. It worked but that wasn't the problem. The problem was that the vacuum switch wasnt getting a ground signal from the computer. I rigged it with a relay so that it would when the AC comes on. Now it works but I wonder why there is no ground output from the ECU? Anyone have any ideas? Although it works now, Im hoping it keeps on working and I dont mess anything up by runing ground to the switch.
