I have a 01 tacoma and have put a cold air intake on, and my check engine light keeps coming on. The reader said that the intake is the problem in that it is getting too much air. How do I make that stupid light go off? Is there a diffrent air/flow sencer that I can put in? What can I do? Any help would be great.
take it too autozone and find out why it is comming on and the code for the light. come back here do a little search for the code. or your o2 sensor could be bad

^ and leaving it that way!
The guy that helps me with the truck, has a reader and it is showing A/F problems and the A/F sencer ohms out ok. I am sure this not the first time this kind of thing has happened.
Have you gone back and checked for any leaks in the new intake? Are all the hoses hooked back up to the right places?

Yes all the hoses and every thing is where it susposed to be. My mechanic said it is getting to much air for the sencer. I was just checking to see if anybody had any ideas or suggestions on what to do other than putting back the factory aircleaner.
I can't see it getting too much air. I have an aftermarket intake on a 97 4Runner V6 with headers and exhaust with no problem. That moves quite a bit more air than stock. My friend has one on a 2K Tacoma 4 cyl with no problem. There are tons of these kits out there. There must be something else going on. What code are you getting exactly? Give us the actual numbers.

The code is P1130 and the possible trouble ares could be; open or short in A/F sensor circuit, A/F sensor, Air induction system, fuel pressure, injector, or ECM. I just asssumed that with the new air cleaner and the majority of the problems on the list are air/flow related.
Yeah, clear the computer first, then see if the code come back. If it does, check resistance at the connection to the ecu as well as at the afm to make sure the wiring is ok. Check again for leaks in the system.

How long have you had it on the truck? I've heard where some vehicles take a little time to "get use to" all the extra air and after a few weeks they are fine. Allthough I have not heard of this with a toyota.
