I have a 88 Toyota Pickup 22re standered trany. I have not had too may problems with it. But there is something that gets to me. when i am driving in to the wind i can only get up to 55mph at most. i have wanted to do an upgrade on my engine for a long time. i have been doing some research about it and i have seen this done. I want to convert it to a 350 carb. now i am not that much for engine swaping but i do know my truck. I know ther is a transfer case for it. and i do know that there is a bell housing for it. i how many splines there are on acluch for a 350 or what the diamiter of the shaft is. or for my toyota either. Do they make a clutch that will fit this. i don't reall want to have to get another trany. i know that the trany can handle the 350 motor. but i may be wrong. If you have done this i would really like some input. or if you have coments or advise i would be very greatful.

http://www.lcengineering.com/ they make a good turbo kit for the engine also a supercharger ... but it's all up too you.... also i think throwing in the 3.4l toyota engine would be more fuel efficent but i belive you would need a diffrent tranny compleatly killing for what you want.

Yea, there is a conversion kit built that will drop a 350 chev or a 302 ford motor into your yota. The 302 is a tad easier due to the distributor being on the front. The kit comes complete with bell housing, clutch, and detailed intstructions. You can also go for a 3.8 V-6 that works too. Yes your tranny will handle it unless you start hammering the truck on the road or slickrock. It can't handle 200 HP burnout.

think about keeping it all Toyota and putting in a 7mgte. can bolt up to the tranny with 5mge bell housing, 5mge motor mounts.

would need electric fan 'cause the 7mgte is longer.
