89 toyota 4x4

I have a bent rearend housing on my 89 toyota regular cab 4x4, v6, 4:10 5 speed. The dealer want over 900 just for the housing so obviously I need to find a used one. I am not sure which toyota 4x4 and years would fit this. Any help would be apreciated. Also if any one has any ideas on where to find a cheap one. Thanks, Tal.

You can use a rear axle from the following years 1986 - 2004 on the 4x4 trucks they are all equal in width. You can use the rear axle from 1986 -1989 off of the 4runners. Those are the years that still had leaf spring applications.

You can also use the rear axle from the years 1979 - 1984 but it is about 3-4" narrower then the above mentioned applications.

Gear ratios may vary though from 4.10 to 4.88 from the factory and that will also not tell you if the gears have been changed.

Tips for checking gears is compare the number of drive shaft pinion revolutions to that of which it takes for the drum to make a complete revolution.
