Tranny ID Question

I've got a 4 wd 95 4Runner V6 5 speed. The tranny or the T-Case hum while driving, especially noticable at hway speeds. I know it's not the diff just had new 4:56 gears put in. Floor jacked the rear had buddy put it through 1st 2nd and 3rd gear, rear is nice and quiet. Is the Tranny/Tcase combo the same as in the Pickups? My thought is all of the additional weight of the runner may have warranted a different setup. Any ideas or help will be appreciated. Thanks all!

im trying to figure out how your tranny or t-case would hum. did you put larger tires on your runner? also, have you lubed your driveshafts from the rear diff and front diff?

I'm running 32's with the Downey HD rear coils and T-Bar's cranked up about 1". Both drive shafts have been lubed and gear oil changed regularly on both diffs.
I know it's a drive noise because when I let off the gas, I can hear the normal tire hum, but the second I get on the gas...I hear that whine/hum noise. I thought about the drive shaft but the spider bearings seem to be in good shape.

well, im guessing that since your hearing it while your driving, its not your transfer case (unless you have it in 4 wheel drive )
do you know if the noise is coming from the middle or the rear of the runner, or possibly even the front?

My thoughts too...But the driveline is bolted to the rear of theT-Case. The sound seems to be coming from the middle.

I've taked the ADD auto hubs off and replaced with Aisin's. So I'm pretty sure it's nothing up front.

I'm ready to drive this thing 'till it grenades and then I'll know what to replace!!
