Temperature Sender Unit Question

Is there a difference in the temp senders between 84-88 truck standard clusters (no tach) and ones used in the SR5's (w/tach)?
I did a swap to a tach cluster a while back (I have 2 clusters) and the temp gauges do not seem to register as the original, non-tach cluster one did. They seem to be lower reading.
Is there any difference? The tach and oil are fine as I did the appropriate changes for those components but the temp gauge just does not seem to be right.
Thanx.

There wouldn't seem to be a need to make a different sender. You might make some inquiries at a parts store to see if there are different ones though. Also check different years, '84 may be different than '88, etc.
