hey amigos,great forum.l seem to join a forum everytime l get a new vehicle cool enough to have a dedicated following of gearheads and enthusiasts.Anyhow l love turbo vehicles and tend to buy them or convert them.l just bought a great 1986 SR-5 turbo 4wd and it`s got 110k miles.lt was stored for two years and someone bought it,drove it for two hours and somehow broke it.The tech said it jumped time and bent some valves.Compression tests reveal 5psi in one of the cylinders...l`m taking the head off this weekend for a peak and will go forward from there.Questions? well l`m thinking of adding a thicker head gasket to lower compression so l can run more boost and l may upgrade the turbo while l`m in there.l`ve got a lot of turbo experience but no Toyota history.Any help with parts sources,info sources would be greatly appreciated.l can`t seem to find much info on the turbo trucks.Does anyone know what turbo they use?My ambitious plan is to add a top mount intercooler from a WRX with a custom hood.Don`t worry,l know what l`m doing here and l`ll make it look nice.Anyhow any words of wisdom on Toyota`s turbo engines will be greatly appreciated
