Hi,

Workin on a friend's 2000 Rav4. She had the battery replaced a couple of days ago and the engine started running rough and set a code. I pulled the code at the parts store. It was 106: manifold absolute pressure. I found a vacuum hose leading to the map sensor right by the battery that was disconnected and thought - hooha! Hooked it back up, and now the car runs even worse!?

Any ideas?

OK,

I just drove the car, and gradually the PCM realized is was getting good signals from the MAP sensor. It was necessary to open the throttle wider than normal to allow this to occur. The driveability quickly improved and the stumbling on acceleration gradually disappeared. After three starts running normally, the PCM reset the check engine code for the PCM. All is now well.
