No ... it wont work ... 85-95 blocks are a different height then the earlier 81-84 blocks .

I don't remember all the specifics, but you can put a 20r head on a 22r engine. I did it back when I owned my truck, & posted some info about the project at http://www.fallonz.com/stuff/truck/20R.html
