oil level too high at oil fill land crusier

Friend having problem with Toyota Land cruiser of about 1998. She reports there is oil withing 3/4 " of top of threads on oil fill opening - but dip stick reading is normal.
oil pressure light comes on intermittent.
oil appears normal and not mixed with water.
Temp and oil read about normal.
I have no idea how this could happen and asked many times.
maybe this is Toyota unique?
any help really appreciated.
friend has had bad luck with local dealers.

She checking and filling right one? Engine Oil fill is on valve cover on top of engine. If she can see oil level there (impossible), oil will be pumping out when she pull the oil dipstick. Yea the dipstick hole is 2 feet below the oil fill.
Go take a look, maybe she's fill oil somewhere else, like power steering, brake, coolant, tranny.
Definitetly not a Toyota thing
BTW you should have posted on the Toyota Truck forum.

I am new to this and did not know where to post this.
never had a toyota.
does not make sense to me either.
car is in new england and I'm in Colorado - so hard to check myself.
may times answered that the cap was marked engine oil.
I asked same question re liquids seeking own level. and dip stick hole probably well below the oil fill.
considered maybe something to know about toyotas..

She pulling the Tranny stick? Engine leaking oil? Maybe oil pressure sensor faulty or lose wire causing light to blink.

tranny stick is a thought. I will ask.
engines I have owned had oil fill that would be hard to block or etc. and that much oil?? seems to me like it would show some obvious problems. Has been driven this way.

Car will run with that much oil. Maybe slow and sluggish and probably leaking oil every where. Ask her how many bottle of oil she put to get it that full. I guess another 4-6L

she's not guilty if it is just that full. owner may have done that.
she was checking to be sure not damaged.. and still not sure what she has found. I suggested she take to garage and have them look at it. I appreciate the thoughts and she acknowledges the dip stick she pulled may have been transmission. she asked how to tell and i am not familiar with that engine.?? she might not know placement of oil pan and which stick is right. I suggested many late ones are painted yellow for engine oil. but this??
and manual not with car.
thanks for the thinking on this.
