Supercharged X-Runner

The '05 Tacoma brocure doesn't list the much talked about supercharger, bring HP to about 300 (+or-). Does anyone have any information on this subject?

"The X-Runner is available with a TRD supercharger, bringing the V-6 output to 300+ horsepower and a 0-60 ET of slightly more than 5 seconds. During extensive testing, the X-Runner's road-holding ability was measured by an electronic accelerometer in excess of 0.9 g's of lateral acceleration. That's not only significantly better than any truck on the market, it repeatedly performed better than many sports cars, including the new Nissan 350-Z."

It's going to be similar to the previous superchargers from trd. They are the eaton type blowers. The intake is removed and the supercharger sits on top of the engine. They'll probably offer a 7th injector for it as well. Are you getting an X-Runner? I'm loving mine.

Seriously considering it... I'm a former gen 2 SVT Lightning owner and I want that power and handling back. Do you know if the TRD SC is factory installed, or a dealer add-on?

Most likely an add-on. All previous TRD superchargers have been dealer add-ons or DIY.

I'm jealous of all you x-runner owners!!

trdcamry2003... you're driving an X-runner? Describe the acceleration with the normally aspirated V6. And price it out for me, including your discount (and the SC)...lol

I can't touch the price on the X-Runner. Others dealers mark them up 3k. I can get you msrp. Whatever my cost on the supercharger is I can give you that plus a discount on the installation. The price on it is pretty decent though. The msrp is 23,805.

282 ft lbs of torque is very fun.

Wink Incentives

Hmmm... MSRP? Where are the incentives ???

Bob Carter, Toyota vice president said during a visit to Detroit.
Quote: "Toyota will make select use of incentives to help bolster Tacoma sales this fall. "It's an important entry segment for young, male buyers," he said. Carter acknowledged Toyota has almost never used incentives on a new product but is willing to make an exception on very selective basis with the Tacoma."

I hate MSRP.

OK trdcamry2003, after checking around, your offer for MSRP is a good one. I paid MSRP for my '99 Lightning, and told myself I wouldn't do it again, but I have a thing for hard to obtain trucks, I guess Anyway, how many X-Runners are Toyota releasing for '05, is the production limited?

Thanks, Steve

They are making 3500 for the 2005 model year, so they are going to be limited. I'll check to see if I have any coming in.
