94 Toyota Truck 4x4

I found 94 Toyota pickup DX EXT Cab 4X4 with added factory air, Camper shell, brand new tires and brakes, 71000 miles original owner for $7800 dollars. What if any are the current problems or things I should look at before considering this purchase.

Does this sound like a good price?

Rick

that sounds like a really good price for a one-owner low milage rig.one of the things that you should look into though, is the engine. does it have the 4-cyl,or the v-6?the 3.0 of those years, and later models seem to have problems with headgaskets.if it is the v-6,ask the owner if its ever been to toyota for the recall of said headgaskets.dont be afraid of this though, ive got a buddy with 290,000 on the origional v-6 and has only had headgasket probs. once.

It has a V6 engine and I guess clutch has been fixed once at around 50k miles

I will have to have the head gasket looked at. Since I have a mechanic at my disposal it should be easy.

you can also call toyota, and read them the vin#.with this, they can access the natiowide database and tell you wether or not they havebeen changed.I forgot to mention that there is no real milage or time limit on this,so if they havent been done, its kind if like insurance.Maintence is a key issue, though, and i personally recommend regular coolant flush& use of toyota brand antifreeze,(even though i work for chevrolet..Shhh!)
