Question 1986 Toyota Truck Fuel Filter (not fuel injected)

Where the hell is it? I searched a customer's engine bay for about 15 minutes yesterday, and it has been bothering me ever since...

If anybody has a picture of the engine bay and where it is located at it would be very helpful!

Thanks in advance!

Brandon

According to my manual (How to Keep you Toyota Pickup Alive - I suggest this manual for any newbie) the fuel filter can be found:
'75-'81 models - engine compartment right fender.
'82-'87 22R - beneath the truck in front of right rear wheel
22RE and 22RE-TE - beneath the intake manifold

Hope this helps.

Nice job, laxer49! I was about to suggest to look right under the intake manifold on the driver's side. Was it intake or exhaust... not sure, but it is definitely there and it is a beyotch to take off from what I hear!

Just to clarify what the others have said, it is on the framerail, passenger side, inside the rear wheelwell, back by the fuel tank. You can look forever in the engine bay and never find it, it isn't there.
