TP sensor with no ohm reading?

I have a 86 4runner with the 22re EFI. When i check the TPS for the resistance in ohms it doesn't read anything at all. with the throttle in any position. Is it bad??

Sure is bad. You might also want to try testing the voltage as well just to make sure.

What pins are you checking across? Don't have my book with me but there are several pins with different reading at different throttle positions.
It's an expensive thing to replace and I don't want you wasting money.

It measures infinity at every position. I have the instruction for testing it from toyotatech. When it is at no throttle it is infinate also. I am getting the code for it when i did the code scan. It doesn't run horrible but is definatly loosing power and the timing doesn't change when i plug in the short for the test connector.
what is the voltage test for the TPS?

The voltage test is done off another one of the connectors at the drivers fender where you can see the voltage step up as you more the throttle position. I your case, I don't think it would help. It sounds like yours is fried.
