USA 1994 Toyota pickup auto trans problem

My 94 Toyota PU 4 cylinder automatic has a trans problem with shift points. It has 121K miles on it. It shifts into second around 20mph, third at 45-50mph, then 4th at 55mph. It does not slip and still has good acceleration and does not leak. I changed the fluid and it was dark red. The filter was changed also this past summer. What could be wrong and how much money to fix?

How hard are you pushing it for those shift points? If you are flooring it, those numbers could be reasonable. If you are light on the throttle, they sound high.

I believe that shift points are calculated off TPS position also.
