Cold air is denser
the more ya put in the more ya get out
so if you think of your engine as a huge air pump, the more cold air you get in the more you can put out then that also means you will be creating more horse power.

on that truck (or just about any truck/car) the only benefiet you may see would be the increase in air flow from a new filter.
unless it is determined that the stock system is increadibly restrictive, you will see no change, with trucks that see a lot of dirt, you may see a negative effect fromt he dirt getting throught the "High-Flow" filter.
You would need to free up the exhaust as well, and that means more than just slapping on a cat back to make a noticable change in HP or torque.
Some say an increase in gas milage, but again, probably has more to do with changing the filter than anything else.

CAIs are a waste of money unless you want to pay $200 for a cool sound coming from the engine bay. Check out www.gadgetonline.com and see what kind of testing and dyno he's done. Gadget's done some extensive research on CAI and found that some applications actually lost power... it's a good and informative read.

Just drill holes in your airbox and you will get the same results. Check out http://www.yotatech.com/~corey/tech/techpage5.htm

dyno proven LOSS through any intake of your choice... taking your stock airbox and cutting a 4"x4" square in it will improve your air intake better than any intake on the market...

if it wasnt true... many people wouldnt do it... i have it done on my truck

Hmmmmm. theres a filter named GREEN. is was a few guys high up in K&N that wanted to make changes that K&N would not accept. then then quit the company and started producing there own filter called GREEN. at shows they wiull test there filter against K&N and when we ask K&N to test on there machine against GREEN they declined. but if u put more air in u would also need to get it out faster as well. but when i installed my GREEN filter i took my whole air box out. and jsut installed the cone filter. it has a soild in on it. and i dont think it lets dirt past. but if u do let dirt into ur engine ur gonna wear ur cylender walls out way faster then normal. dirt and grim will kill a engine block
