?? @ roof rack leaks

I have a '98 4runner with two black trim pieces on top, not a factory roof rack. These trim pieces are attached to my roof with "star-head" bolts. I want to remove these trim pieces and put Yakima tracks and control towers on instead, using the same star-head bolts (5 of them per side) so I won't have to drill any holes. Should I worry about these leaking??

I would just appply a generous dab of silicon rubber around each hole as I set the rack down. Then clamp down on the bolts and wipe away any of the silicon rubber that oozes out. That should do the job. Only concern might be whether the bolts are strong enough to hold whatever you put on the rack.
