03 TRD Suspension Too Soft

Does anyone else think the suspension is way too soft on their TRD? This is the first toyota that I have owned and I must say, I'm somewhat dissapointed in the driving experience. I previously owned a 94 FORD Ranger STX and if I could keep it on the road, I loved to drive it. It handled like a dream. My Taco has tremendous body roll and at interstate speeds its a 10/2 hand position only. Every corner of the truck will sag and bounce unpredictably. When I haul my ATV you would think I had a ton of rock in the back. I know that poly bushings in my sway bars and leaf shakles will help some, but does anyone have any suggestions. I also considering changing the shocks to something a little bigger than the pencils that are on it.

Shocks may do a little, but look at the spring rates. If it is an off road model it probably has softer springs which provide better articulation when off road. Don;t know enough about Toyotas to know if this is the case.

Throwing some air bags in the rear may help a little.
a bigger sway bar up fromt may help too.

More air in the tires may help stiffen up the ride a little too.

Thanks. It is an off road package. I knew the spring rate was pretty soft but I never thought how that would allow for more articulation. Makes sense. I also thought about purchasing bigger coils for the front, if thats possible. I did this on a Ranger I had and it made a huge difference. I'm getting close to the end of warranty on this truck so I might redo the suspension completely with a mild lift.

I Changed My Bilstein Shocks To Rancho RS 9000X (9 Way Adjustable 1#-9#)

This Made A Big Difference In The Ride Of My 4WD Truck At All Speeds

Nice Firm Controled Ride On/Off Road( I Believe The Shocks Are Set On #6)

These Shocks Are Also Availabe With A Optional In Cab Remote Adjuster-

( You Can Adjust The Shocks F-R From In The Cab)

This Is Nice When Off Road (Winter) You Can Adjust From Inside The Cab

Settings #7,8,9 Are Pretty Firm On Washboard Roads Etc.

Maybe The Spring Rates And/Or Shock Valvings Were Changed By Toyota In 2003 ?
