well here is what is in My haynes toyota pick-ups and 4runner mag:
1 tighten the adjusting nut to 43 ft-lbs
2 loosen the adjusting nut until it can be turned by hand
3 retighten the adjusting nut to 35- to_60 in-lbs,then turn the hub two or three timesto ensure that it moves smoothly with no play in the bearings
4 using a spring tension gauge, check for correct preload(6.2-to-12.6 lbs).If the preload is incorrect loosen or tighten the nut accordingly
5 install the lock washer and locknut
tighten the nut to 58-to-72 ft-lbs
secure the lucknut by bending one of the lock washer tabs over the adjusting nut and one over the locknut
reinstall the free-wheel or locking hub assembly
