Good price for good condition bed??

I was just shopping around trying to complete this puzzle to restore my Toyota. Anyone who's trying to do any kind of restoring on an older Toyota that has had rust or rotting through it, knows how hard it is to find original mint parts for these. On my ventures, I found a good condition bed, which I need badly, but the thing would have to be shipped half way across the country. I was just wondering if anyone on here has bought one and had it put on, or put it on themself, and what they paid. If anyone has bought one and put it on theirself, how hard is it? Anyone with any input to questions I have, and would like to add costs of paint, installation, whatever, feel free! I would love to see some info on this!

griese14 if you do the math you could have a new box buy the time you pay for the used one with palleting it up and shiping. As for paint that will depend on where you take it for the work. If the used box need no bodywork you are looking at around 800 to 1k to have it match your truck. prices do vary around the country but here in NY my shop rate is around $42.00 hr plus paint.. As for changing the box its not to bad if you have a couple buddy's to help you. Each floor support has a bolt that holds the box to the frame with a rubber pad between them, and the fillerneck needs to be disconnected, then in the rear ther is the wires for the lights. Just make sure you disconnect everything before you try to pick the old bed off.. good luck bud and have fun restoring your truck
