first start idle/temp on 94 pu 2dw

on my 94 pu 2wd when i first start it up after its cold the idle hangs at about 2100 and doesnt drop till warm. and also on initial startup when its warming up it goes all the way to red before the thermostat opens. but then it drops and staysin the middle. can anyone tell me why or how to fix it???

same problem on my 94 2wd i guess you could get a cooler thermostat. as far as the fast idle , thers an air adjustor screw on your intake that may help and theres also a solenoid that controls the fast idle . i dunno if thats yoyr problem but its the cheapest way to start. i dunno my about the tps sensor but ive heard they can cause weird thigs like that. i think you can adjust the idle up solenoid with screws or maby your thermal switch isnt working right.
