Turboed a.k.aBoosted 22R people I need help

a guy wants to sell me a OEM turboed motor. the only problem with the motor right no is fried piston rings. could anyone help me out and tell me the pro's and cons of this particular motor what i have in my truck right now is a N/A 85-95 22R motor by anymeans that is not stock


any help would be much appreciated

There really isn't much difference in the turbo vs non-turbo, obviously the 22rte has forged pistons (which you might have to replace now) with a lower compression ratio, a slightly different cam, I cannot recall if the head has a bigger combustion chambers or not, or if they get all of the "lowered" compression by the pistons. The block, crank and rods are the same. What can you purchase the motor for? You say you have stuff done to your motor and factory it 110 horse and the 22rte is rated at 145......is it worth buying rebuilding and making the swap??
