Got a bunch of questions

OK, so i am completely new to all teh truck performnce there is, i just bought an old, (quite nice looking) Toyota Tacoma... i think. It is one of the earlier models, yo know those, the little pick ups, its an 87' model, it has the 22R Engine on it and it looks pretty nice.
I guess what i am wondering is what would be the basics to start making it a somewhat nice performance machine.

Is it a 4wd model? Check out this link http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/740754 and you will see a picture of what I did with my 1988 4X4 (it had the 3.0 V6). You can do alot with "classic" Toyota trucks to really make them look good. If it is a 2wd model, I am sure there are lots of people on this forum who can give you some great ideas for it.
