I`m looking for information on Bosal exhaust for my 97 4runner 2.7L .My muffler is split at the side .Money is tight since I have been off from work for a while .The cheapeest exhaust I can find is a Bosal .Are they any good .Will they last ? Or should I just suck it up and spend more money .

I own an older BMW and spend time on BMW message boards. Bosal is not held in high regard on the Roadfly message board. That being said, I bought one for maybe the same reason you are thinking--it was the right price. If I had it to do over I would look for some other brand, even if it cost more. I had a Camry that I put a Midas exhaust on. It needed a new muffler every three years. Muffler was free, but replacement pipes were not. Good luck.

Get a Magnaflow or a Flowmaster. Just suck it up and spend the $$$.

if your budget is so tight that you are looking into Bosal, id say just go to Midas, atleast you would have a good warranty on it. but the best muffler for the 2.7 as far as getting the most power and MPG is a Borla. if your just going for sound, Flowmaster will work. but if you just want a replacement muffler, just go to midas. i dunno how much the Bosal stuff runs, but if you wanna go for power/MPG gains, the Borla muffler will run you about 150-180 depending on where you get it. thats for stainless so you also wont have to worry about getting a new muffler anytime soon. if you just want the sound and the MPG/power gain isnt a factor, a Flowmaster muffler will run about 70-120 depending what series you get.

id go with the Borla then if you want the gains. but if your more concerned about sound and the gains arent a factor, the Flowmaster will be even cheaper

good luck

Not sure about the Borla, but Flowmaster should be a direct bolt on.

i think they both might, but if they do its gonna be expensive. alot more than the Bosal. but id rather have a shop weld in a new muffler rather than bolt it all up. less chance of leaks and water getting into the pipes and rusting them
