idle shaking

hi all,

i own a 93 toyota pick up truck it has 122k miles on it and about 3 months ago and it started to shake when it's idle. cold, warm, hot the engines shakes a lot from the steering wheel and you can also feel it in the seat. it only shakes on idle, when you drive on the road it doesn't shake anymore...

If you haven't done it yet, give it a tune-up: new spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, air filter etc....

Check for a vacuum leak, intake manifold leak, or possibly bad valve(s).

i have the same problem it has a rough idle anytime it idles especially after it warms up. sometimes the idle is higher and other times its right on spec but when its on spec its rough as hell and when its up higher ( 1500 rpm or so, just a guess) it is smooth but when you hit the brakes its jumps up and down vroom bahhh vroom bah. ive done a complete major tune up new air filter and all adjusted the valve lash to spec only ting i havent doen is check the valves and the fuel filter . it also has a leak at the exhaust manifold flange where it meets the down pipe. could an axhaust leake cause this. i know a few others with this problem nobody has figured it out to my knowledge. if it were a bad valve what would be a way to check this without pulling the head.? ive checked vacuum leaks with some ether and i did not find anything that cause the idle to race up. i think its something like a sensor or possibly the fuel filter. i know theres alot of toyota owners here with the 22re that have the same problems but it puzzles me as to why none of us can figure this problem out. any help is greatly appreciated .
