Sometimes I wish I didn't have to shift, but it is IMO manual is more fun to drive.

I love maunals too, but to much bad traffic in my daily commute. Maybe a sportshift mode would be a nice compromise.

Automatic trans in a sport truck = wimp-mobile. Sportshift is for uncoordinated dorks who want to pretend they have a real gearbox. JMO

It's more fun driving an auto and looking behind you to look at those superheros (woohoo, we're the shit because we're driving sticks ) who can't keep up and/or has missed a shift who are trying their best shifting to keep up with a wimp-mobile. JMO

Back to the topic, I wouldn't mind an auto XRunner if that was to come available.

Manual. No question for me. The way I look at it, it's not all about looking bad ass, or possibly shifting faster. Driving is a skill and an art. If all one needs to do is use 1 foot to make the car go, and 1 hand to point it in the right direction, then it is not considered "driving", in my opinion. Driving a car includes 2 hands AND 2 feet. This is for "sports driving", as for trucks and vans, autos are just fine to serve the purpose. Side note, I did want the 6 speed for my truck, however they didn't offer it in the long bed.

Well, there are times (like moving 25 feet per hour) where it is nice to sit back, relax, drink some coffee, listen to some tunes, and this is where the automatic would come in handy. The problem with the new Tacoma is that I really like the X-Runner, want a V-6 for the power and towing capability, will only buy an automatic, and dont really want the Prerunner (after driving sports cars for years, I like being low to the ground). It might be easier to try and lower a Prerunner.
