ok i plan on buying a header the problem is i want to keep the smog pipe for the egr system . the ones i see on e bay and from pacesetter say they have all smog and engine mgt hookups but the picture looks as iff its a different header. my truck is a 94 std cab 22re with fed emissions. has anybody put a header on one of these ? if you have i would appreciate the info on which one you used. t.i.a.
I had a Downey(I think) on my '93 22re xcab. It was a PITA(pain in the A#$) from the get-go. I installed new nuts and studs on the head, but the nuts kept backing out and the gasket kept coming apart. After 3 years of b.s. and no power or mpg gain, I yanked it, sh1t canned it, and put the stock exhaust back on.

when you put the studs in your supposed to use high temp loctite on the thredz. basicly i just want a header that will bolt right up to the flange for the egr valve. you know the one on the back by the #4 cyl facing the front. looks like this ( <0> ) and goes around the back side of the head and to the egr valve. the reason is i dont want to mess up the smog stuff in case i move back to ohio where they test every 2 years. besides the stock manifold on my truck has a small crack that is getting bigger and ive tried to weld it but it only got worse so i figure why not replace it. theres a cam ive seen on ebay and somewhere elses that is supposed to work well with the header ive heard .. power isnt an issue really just cant find a manifold arround here at the bone yards and the dealer .. welll f**k that.
On my truck, the egr pipe unbolted from the exhaust manifold, and I used it with the header. Is it your manifold or collector pipe that's cracked? I used to see manifolds all the time on ebay, but right now there's only one, there's also a TRD header on Ebay. Take a look; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW

Good luck at whatever course you take.
hey thanx man.. i was looking at that one and it did not appear to have the fitting for the pipe to the egr.. it looks like it does have the o2 sensor holed on the pipe after the flange.

well i feel stupid cuz i now realize that the pipe i was talking about is seperate from the manifold. so i assume it will bolt over the header the same way. thanx for the help bill.. you still got your header.?? ill buy it from ya.
Nope....It's long gone. It was a 2 piece header, and I had it tacked together w/a welder. So in order to get it out of the truck I had to cut it apart somehow. When I yanked it, i used a grinding wheel on it. I was that disgusted with it.
www.lcengineering.com have you checked there yet i am sure they have em yeah i know it is not the e-bay price but it is what you are looking for right or how about www.northwestoffroad.com they have all kinds of appl. as well hope this helps
