No spark on my 3vze after rebuild!

Ok, so my 4runner threw a rod bearing while 4x4ing. Pulled the engine, and completly rebuild it. Everything is back in and ready to go, but there is no spark going to the engine. The engine cranks, but wont start. What could cause there to be no spark going to the plugs? At first I thought it was the fact that I forgot the plug in the knock sensor, so I took it apart and pluged it in and still no spark. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA.

Alot of people ive heard from with this problem end up having a bad ignition igniter.this is especialy true when the vehicle has crossed deep water,or gone through a high power wash. You might start there, and also check the obvious, plug in terminals, coil, ect.no spark is usually straightforeward bad component.

Could a bad MAFS be causing this problem?

I dont think so.To my (limited( knowlege the mass airflow sensor detect the amount of air moving through the intake passage and tells the pcm to adjust the fuel flow in conjunction with the tps.If you have NO spark,I would tend to suspect morreover ignition components, such as the igniter, distributor pickup coil, ect. Are you checking for spark with a plug(grounded) connected to a wire while cranking engine?
