Wheel Spacers

I have 33 x 12.5 BF Goodrich tires on my 93 4X4. I would like to widen the truck's track, but I'm not sure if wheel spacers are right for my application. The truck is a daily driver. I have read concerns about wheels falling off (that would suck). If the spacer bolts to the stock studs how is this different then the wheel bolting to the studs? The steel spacers seem safer then the aluminum ones. I understand the increase track will put additional moment on the wheel bearings, but so will new wheels with offset. Should I forget about the spacers and save money to purchase wheels with the correct offset?

I am not the biggest fan of wheel spacers, I have seen them come off on the trail (well a stud fell out and caused the brakes to seize).
Was a royal PITA.

They are a good quick fix to adjust track and fix things like frame rubbing with larger tires.

Not sure what type of wheeling ya do, but a 10" wheel will also help spread your track.
makes the tires real fat, but also come off the bead quicker below 12 psi.
Will probably want to keep it above 15 psi just to be safe.

I wuld not be affraid to use aluminum, Wheel studs will eat through mild steel too.
if you do use aluminum, coat the mounting surfaces with anitsieze. Will help prevent the aluminum from welding/sticking like a mother to everything else.
