Question !995 4 Runner idling problems!!

Hi,
My 1995 V6 4 Runner has started acting real strange since its turned cold. While it is idling in park the engine will rev intermittenly between 1500 and 2000 R.P.M.s every two seconds.Does this signify a vacuum leak?
Also I have "gurgling" in my heater core like a previous post.I have tried idling with the radiator cap off and the heater on high and the coolant topped off with no improvement?Does this sound like a head gasket problem?I don`t seem to be losing any coolant.
Thanks for any help.
Danny

TPS? http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/TPS/index.shtml

Is your thermostat working properly to?, plenty of heat up front?, no temp overshoot on cold motor?
Does it only do that when cold?, I'm not an expert, but it could be a dirty or failing cold start injector. EFI is really a pain to troubleshoot and work on.., many mechanics, just adjust the TPS to compensate for an idle problem caused by some other problem in the system and just end up messing it up worse.

Hi,
I have recently replaced the thermostat and it seems tobe working properly. there is plenty of heat and the temp seems normal.I wish I knew something about EFI.I`ll probaly have to take it to someone who knows what the`re doing, unlike myself. Thanks for the info.
