2000rpm Idle at cold start

I recently purchased a 2005 Toyota PreRunner (Access Cab 2.7 liter)



When I initially start my truck in the morning or after work it idles at 2000rpm, until the engine is warmed up, their after it idles at 1000rpm. Only when the engine is cold does the idle reach 2000rpm. I mentioned this to the dealer whom I purchased the vehicle from and he said this was typical of the four cylinder models. Is this true?

Perfectly normal. All the models idle high when cold. (cars and trucks)

Just wanted to make sure this would not damage the engine in any way. And, get a second opinion on a resolve if there was one.
