Hello, as known i'm new in this forum and the question is how can i identify engine type for my 80 toyota pick up, the # is 35788, is it possible to id it by the camshaft cover?? or any other detail!!

The original engine had a decal on the front of the rocker cover with "20 R" in silver on a black background.

I was being a bit facetious. As far as I know, all the pickups shipped to the US in 1980 were equiped with the 20R engine.

Yeah that's as far as i know the engine my truck has, the thing is that the papers i have say it's 22 but i'm practically shure it's a 20
