USA 4x4 Not Engaging

my 94 sr5 4x4 (v-6) will not shift into four wheel drive. other than checking for the obvious (fuse) what else could be wrong. the shift lever moves alright but no 4x4 lite on dash and 4x4 does not engage.

Mine is having the exact same problem. Mine is engaged mechanically with a lever. So I got underneath and the lever does work fine. However when I put it into 4WD the front drive shaft does turn, in 2WD it does not. So I knowt he transfer case is working. What I am unsure about is the automatic engaging hubs. I think they are not working properly. If that helps I am glad, but you should check the linkage on the lever, then suspect something else.

Good luck

Mammouth,

Did you get the 4WD working yet? I just fixed mine, and it was a vacuum leak, not necessarily connected to the ADD system. I checked all the components and found they all were in working order. If you haven't already, check all the vacuum hoses.
