Fastest I Have Gone In My 1993 P/u Which Is Same As Your 1989 Model Was 89 Mph On New Tires And Shocks, On Nj Tpk, But I Would Not Recommand You To Go That Fast , The Truck Looses Stability At Above 85 Mph It Seems Like It Wants To Lift From All The Air Travelling Fast Under The Truck At That Speed.

If you can find the gear ratios in the tranny and rear end plus the engine speed where the rev limiter kicks in I can point you to an excel spread sheet that will calculate your top speed (among other things). Its made for bikes, but should work with little or no modification.

the rear end is a 3 7 3 i believe.. let me get back to you on the tran gears.. it's a 4 speed if you can help me at all.. but i dont have a rev limiter on the truck.. no governor of any sort.. and i'm not sure where it red-lines because i dont have a tach either.. anything you can help out with is awesome.. i'll keep lookiing

and yeah.. if your riding at a stock height you'll feel it wobble at 80.. i'm on mags so i'm got a little more tire to ride on and i've got on a 2/4 drop plus a 3 inch all around.. i've got 3 inch clearance at tall points underneath
