I recently changed my clutch in my truck and had to remove the driveshafts in the process. The driveshafts were stubborn and stuck on good, but there was nothing besides the four bolts holding the flange yoke to the rearend. For mine I took a small pipe that I could fit between the flange yoke and the u-joint and was able to pry back and forth and break it free. Since you are replacing the u-joint, you don't have to worry about damaging the u-joint. I don't think you would damage it anyways.

I checked my manual and couldn't find anything about a retaining clip or anything...I think yours is just stuck on there good.

Hopefully this helps

pb blaster is a penetrating lubricant kinda like wd 40 only its better for breaking things loose. it has a very strong mothball smell . its what i always use on brake drums and exhaust bolts. works great.

happy holidays... today when i was out in the driveway i noticed a spot on the blacktop that was strting to turn soft and mushy... i thought maby it was brake fluid or gasoline but i remembered that when i took the drums off of to replace a stud i used a shitload of pb blaster on the drum to loosen it up. that was 3 days ago rigfht above where the hole is in my blacktop. that stuff is strong. lol ive never seen dub d for de do dat.

Just make sure you mark it when you take it off, it has to go back on the same way for balancing. Try putting some power to the shaft, as in start it up and try to go.., it'll come apart real quick.

ive never heard that man but thanx for the tip.. yea i never though of that... just give it a little torque from the engine .. but carefull not to sling it everywhere... also might wanna drain the tranny cuz fluid likes to drip out the output shaft on the tranny if you dont.

Hang the universal with a piece of wire so it don't fall on the pavement. Don't want it bent or anything. You want it to remain stationary where its at. Once its loose it should pop right out. Bring it in for a $20 repair at a u-joint shop.
