You can yank on one of the abs sensors. You will have the abs light on afterwards. You can also probably have the dealer change it using a scanner. Why do you want to get rid of it though?

There is probably a fuse you can pull also, if you do pull the sensors, lube and tape both ends to avoid dammage so you can put it all back together when you want to sell the truck.

Only reason I can see wanting to disconnect is that you do a lot of off roading.
If that is why you hate it, install a switch at the fuse to disconnect, you will be able to turn on and off at will.

I know your insurance company will have some serious issues covering you if you get in an accident and it is discovered you disconnected your ABS after you told them you had it?

It is a safety feature and they lower your premiums because you have it.

Good luck

Thanks for your reply...I've tried to get the dealer to do it but they said that it was against the law...I have driven for years without ABS. With the snow and ice out here in denver, i feel that i could control my truck better without it. Plus, offroading, i feel that there are times when you just need to slide!!!

i agree with the off roading part of it.
I disagree with you controling it better on the snow and ice
Jackie Stewart thought the same thing, he even thought his lap times were faster with the regular brakes until they showed him the time slips.
ABS blew away his regular braking times.
Now, you may be a better driver than Jackie Stewart, but a Idoubt it.
Your best bet will be to read the wiring diagram and put in an off-on switch for when you go off roading.
Also, Keep in mind, anything to defeat the saftey mechanism in your truck will make you neglegent in an accident. Is it really worth going to jail for negligent homicide cause you killed someone just so you "think" you have more control?
