Unless this vehicle is "off road only", it could be illegal to, in effect, back date the engine. Even if it's not illegal today, that could change with the stroke of a pen. A '93 chassis will have to wait a minimum of about 13 years to possibly be eligible for exemption in some areas of Wash., for example. For various reasons, "the powers that be" frown on installing older engines in later chassis. The tree huggers are squeezing us more and more every day! When properly dialed in though, the EFI is a good set up. It has advantages that a carburetor will never have but, they are more envolved and expensive to set up or modify initially. JMO

im not ure but i think if you have an electronic speedo or if it interfears but you might have to remove the fuse to the computer that or remove the engine light bulb . cuz it would most likely stay on. basicly you just want to swap intakes and slap on a weber except for you need a rebuild. i had a mazda b2200 i put a weber on and it id not need the ecm anymore so i pulled it out and sold it on ebay. but while i had it in the truck i just removed the ecm fuse and it ran the same and all the gauges worked great.. i also wired alot of extra stuff ad used custom gauges but the original temp fuel and gas gauge worked because thay are seperate units from the ecm.. on a fuel injected toyota im not sure.. do some tests like pull out your ecm fuse while the truck is moving with the ignition on and see if the speedo works... be carefull tho. d say if you got the time and patience go for it because i know it would be alot easier to work on or tune if you did... and as for the tree huggers if you dont have emissions testing i wouldnt worry but if you do i would agree and say keep the efi unless you are familiar with carb jetting and tuning for emissions.. im not saying its impossible to get th etruck past emissions but it would be more hassle than its worth in that case.
